🍑 Sweet Peach Iced Tea

This recipe uses a combination of black tea and a quick homemade peach syrup for the freshest flavor.

INGREDIENTS

A. Tea Base

  • 8 cups Water (divided)
  • 4 Family-Sized Black Tea Bags (or 12-16 regular-sized tea bags)
  • 1/8 teaspoon Baking Soda (optional, helps prevent bitterness/cloudiness)

B. Peach Syrup

  • 1 cup Sliced Fresh or Frozen Peaches
  • 1/2 cup Organic Raw Cane Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Water

INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1: MAKE PEACH SYRUP

  1. Simmer: In a small saucepan, combine the peaches, sugar, and 1/2 cup water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the peaches are very soft and the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Mash: Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes. Use a fork or potato masher to lightly mash the peaches.
  3. Strain (Optional): Pour the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing the solids lightly to extract all the liquid. Discard the solids (or save them for topping pancakes!). Set the smooth peach syrup aside.

STEP 2: BREW AND SWEETEN TEA

  1. Boil Water: In a separate saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil.
  2. Steep: Remove from heat. Add the tea bags and the baking soda. Cover and let steep for 5–8 minutes. Do not steep longer than 10 minutes to avoid bitterness.
  3. Remove Bags: Remove and discard the tea bags.
  4. Combine: Pour the hot tea concentrate into a large 1-gallon pitcher. Add the prepared peach syrup and stir well.

STEP 3: CHILL AND SERVE

  1. Dilute: Add the remaining 4 cups of cold water (or ice) to the pitcher and stir to combine and cool.
  2. Chill: Refrigerate the tea until it is completely cold, about 2 hours.
  3. Serve: Serve over a generous amount of ice, garnished with fresh peach slices and mint sprigs. Enjoy!
