Jewels of Wisdom | Stuck in Neutral | The Refusal to Grow in Knowledge
We’ve all heard the phrase, "They opened the door for us." And it’s true. A generation of teachers, pastors, and pioneers helped wake our people up to who we are as a nation. They handed us a key. But instead of walking through the door, turning on the lights, and studying to show ourselves approved, too many of our people have set up camp right on the threshold.
They are either stuck in neutral, refusing to advance in knowledge, or frankly, stuck on stupid, doubling down on doctrines that defy both scripture and sound judgment.
It is time to face the raw truth. Our predecessors didn't know everything. In fact, some of what they taught consisted of surface-level understandings, distortions, or flat-out errors. If we keep recirculating their mistakes just because they were the ones who "woke us up," we aren't honoring the Most High; we are worshiping men.
1. Fighting "Tooth and Nail" to Remain Blind
The scriptures explicitly foretold that as we approached the end, clarity and understanding would expand.
Daniel 12:4
"But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”
The Most High promised an increase in knowledge, yet our Brothers and Sisters are fighting tooth and nail to remain ignorant and blind. They are actively resisting the very awakening they claim to be a part of. Instead of running to and fro in the scriptures to unearth deeper truths, they run to and fro defending the outdated, flawed traditions of men.
2. Stuck on Stupid vs. Stuck in Neutral
Let’s call a spade a spade. When you know better, you are supposed to do better. Instead, we see camps and communities recycling the same elementary, flawed doctrines for decades.
"Stuck on Stupid": The Polygyny Obsession
There is an unhealthy, flesh-driven fixation on promoting polygyny as if it is the pinnacle of Hebraic culture. Those who push this are stuck on stupid. They ignore the one-flesh command, the command for the kings of Israel not to multiply women, the prophets, priests, etc. who only had one wife, Malachi 2:14-15 which states that YAH made one wife for man because He was seeking a GODLY seed, and in addition to the immediate chaos, broken homes, and spiritual degradation that consistently followed the practice in scripture. They use the practice to justify lust rather than pursuing the higher spiritual standard of covenant loyalty.
"Stuck in Neutral": Legalistic Stagnation
On the flip side, you have those stuck in neutral, paralyzed by rigid, surface-level teaching like claiming it is a sin to warm up food or cook on the Sabbath. They misinterpret the historical context of gathering manna in the wilderness or kindling fires for work (which, anciently, required intensive labor for the Tabernacle) and turn a day of rest and delight into a day of bondage. They haven't grown past the milk to understand the weightier matters of the Torah.
Hosea 4:6
"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee…"
3. Stop Worshipping Ancestors and Pastors Over the Most High
A glaring issue in our community is the emotional, almost cult-like protection of pastors and teachers. If your favorite teacher didn’t say it, you won’t believe it. You will defend a flawed man before you defend the unadulterated Word of the Most High.
Many of these early teachers opened the door to the truth, yes, but then they fell along the way due to pride, arrogance, or ignorance. They refused to be corrected, and their followers inherited their blindness and stubbornness.
What Does Scripture Actually Show Us?
When you listen to some people pray, they spend half the time honoring dead men, pioneers, and predecessors. But let's look at the actual patterns of prayer from the righteous leaders in scripture:
- David’s Prayer (Psalm 51): David didn't cry out to the merits of Abraham, Isaac, or Jacob. He cried out directly to the mercy of the Creator.
- Nehemiah’s Prayer (Nehemiah 9): When Nehemiah prayed, he didn't gloss over the mistakes of the ancestors to protect their feelings. He openly confessed their wicked behavior and errors: "Neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept thy law..." (Nehemiah 9:34).
- Ezra’s Prayer (Ezra 9:6): "O my Elohim, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my Elohim: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens."
Nowhere in the prayers of David, Nehemiah, or Ezra do we see them romanticizing or honoring dead prophets or teachers. They faced the raw reality: The predecessors were men, and they were in error.
4. Walk Through the Door
It is a tragedy to die of thirst right next to a well just because you don't like the new bucket. The Most High expects evolution, growth, and spiritual maturity.
Proverbs 4:18
"But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”
If your understanding of the scriptures is exactly where it was ten years ago, your light isn't shining brighter, you’ve turned the switch off.
The Bottom Line
Family, we are living in the very days the prophets spoke about. The seal is off the book, and the truth is flowing unhindered. The question is no longer whether the knowledge is available, the question is whether you have the humility to receive it.
You cannot enter the Kingdom on the coattails of your pastor, your camp leader, or your deceased predecessors. They did their part by waking us up and pointing us to the door, but they were flawed men who made flawed mistakes. Holding onto their errors out of misguided loyalty isn't righteousness; it’s stagnation.
Stop being more loyal to your camp, your elite teachers, or deceased pioneers than you are to the truth. Appreciate that they opened the door, but you have the spiritual courage to walk through it. Shift out of neutral, leave the stupid doctrines behind, and accept the increase in knowledge that Daniel prophesied.
Closing Statement: The Choice is Yours: Move Forward or Get Left Behind. Let’s stop fighting tooth and nail to defend the comfort of our ignorance. Take the car out of neutral. Leave the foolish doctrines behind. Put the Most High back at the absolute center of your worship, dive deep into His word, and let's start walking like a nation truly transformed by the truth.
Stay woke, stay humble, and keep growing.
