Week 4 Entry 2: The Illusion of the Ballot | The Erasure of the Black Vote in the South
"And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:" — Daniel 2:21
This past week for Week 4 of The Unbroken Line, a massive, coordinated assault broke out on the voting rights front.
Just a few days ago, the Florida Supreme Court handed down a devastating ruling that officially green-lit an aggressively gerrymandered congressional map for the upcoming 2026 midterms. This decision is the first major domino to fall following the U.S. Supreme Court’s catastrophic Louisiana v. Callais decision, and it reveals exactly how the system intends to dismantle our political voice.
That ruling from the Florida Supreme Court was handed down on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
In a 6–1 decision, the court cleared the way for the state to use the heavily gerrymandered congressional maps for the upcoming 2026 midterms, refusing to grant the temporary injunction filed by voting rights groups.
This was another domino to fall right after the U.S. Supreme Court's April 29, 2026 ruling in Louisiana v. Callais, which state politicians used as their green light to dismantle minority districts.
This week’s ledger is the dismantling of the Hebrew (Black) vote. When we make the ballot box our primary source of hope, we become hostages to the shifting winds of earthly politics.
Here is the fresh news breakdown:
Deconstructing the Line: The Political Mirage
For decades, the narrative pushed from public pulpits and political podiums has been that our liberation, our safety, and our progress are tied exclusively to the "vote." We have been conditioned to believe that if we just march to the ballot box, we can legislate our way out of the conditions of this wilderness.
The news is not a signal to despair over lost political leverage; it is a wake-up call to realize that our power was never in the vote to begin with.
The Higher Authority
The adversary believes that by redrawing voting districts and changing administrative rules, they are successfully securing their own dominance. But they are operating under a delusion. The history of our people, both ancient and modern, shows that systems of oppression only stand for as long as YAH permits them to fulfill His purposes.
When the landmarks are removed by men, it serves as a divine sorting mechanism. It forces us to stop looking to Egypt for a remedy and turns our eyes back to the only One who establishes kingdoms and tears them down. Wisdom and understanding belong to those who recognize that true immunity comes from alignment with the Creator, not integration into the empire.
Deconstructing the Line
1. The Florida Front: The Rushed Boundary Theft
The warfare against the Hebrew (Black) voice has shifted directly into the courts. Last week, the Florida Supreme Court issued an opinion refusing to halt a congressional map that was rammed through the state legislature in less than two days without public input. Civil rights groups, including the NAACP and the Black Collective, sounded the alarm, stating plainly that this map was drawn with one specific purpose: to carve up and scatter concentrated Black communities.
When you slice a thriving, unified district into three or four separate pieces and blend them into surrounding areas, you dilute our voice until it becomes a whisper. They are using the pen to accomplish what they used to do with water cannons and polling taxes.
2. The Historical Connection: The Post-Reconstruction Slump
This is the exact same spirit that overthrew the progress of the late 1800s. During Reconstruction, our people successfully elected representatives, established towns, and built political leverage. The immediate response of the adversary was the implementation of "gerrymandering" (originally called the Mississippi Plan) and poll restrictions to systematically strip that power away.
Today, state lawmakers are emboldened by the federal courts to do it again. They claim these new boundaries are "colorblind" and purely "partisan," but the mathematical result is identical: the stripping away of the opportunity to choose our own leaders.
It is easy to look at the erosion of these civil and voting rights and feel like the ground is slipping from under our feet.
But I came to change your perspective today. Because if you think our power was ever in the 'vote,' you have misunderstood the entire journey.
We have been conditioned to worship the ballot box as if it were our savior. We’ve been told that our protection lies in electing the right officials into a system built on our displacement. But the news keeps proving the fragility of that illusion. They redraw the lines, they change the rules, and they show you that their laws are a moving target.
Our power has never been in the vote. The prophet Daniel declared the reality of who is truly in control: 'He removeth kings, and setteth up kings.'
Politicians think they are drawing those maps by their own authority. School boards think they are banning books like Roots by their own power. But they are just players on a stage. The King of the Universe is the one who changes the times and the seasons. He is the one who determines when a power rises and when it crumbles into dust.
Stop stressing over their boardrooms and start focusing on your own house. When they strip away these earthly illusions of protection, it is YAH shaking the branches so you will stop leaning on a broken reed. Our protection isn't in a political party; it is in our obedience and our return to the covenant. Take your children out of their hands. Teach them the truth at the kitchen table. Build your own infrastructure. Let them shuffle their kings and redraw their lines; our foundation is unmovable.
Let the kingdoms of men do what they will, for their time is measured. Turn your heart back to the true Savior and Redeemer - Elohim, protect your household, and stand firm in the truth of who you are.
Elohim still loves you, Israel. The call remains the same: Choose Life, Choose Blessing, Choose Undivided Devotion. Repent, Return, and be free from the shadows of gross darkness.
