🌺 Classic Hibiscus Iced Tea

This recipe is naturally caffeine-free and creates a bright, concentrated tea that can be sweetened to your preference.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Dried Hibiscus Flowers (or about 10-12 large dried flowers)
  • 4 cups Water (for boiling)
  • 1/4 cup Raw Cane Sugar or Agave Nectar (Adjust to taste, or omit for unsweetened)
  • 1 inch Fresh Ginger, sliced (optional, adds warmth and spice)
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks (optional, adds depth)
  • 4 cups Cold Water or Ice

Instructions

  1. Boil Water: In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil.
  2. Steep: Remove the water from the heat. Add the dried hibiscus flowers, the optional ginger slices, and cinnamon sticks. Stir in the granulated sugar or agave until dissolved.
  3. Rest: Cover the saucepan and let the tea steep for 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. Strain: Pour the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove the solids.
  5. Dilute and Chill: Add the remaining 4 cups of cold water or ice to the pitcher. Stir to combine.
  6. Serve: Serve the hibiscus tea over ice, garnished with a lime wedge or a few mint sprigs. Enjoy!
