New Weekly Series | The Unbroken Line | The Attack on Roots
Series: The Unbroken Line: Connecting past struggles to current events. It captures the continuity of our journey, showing that today's battles are simply the modern front of an ancient and ongoing struggle to preserve identity, truth, and righteousness.
Series Premiere: The Attack on Roots
The Current Front: Erasing the Ledger in Tennessee
This month, on May 14, 2026, the front line of historical erasure sits in Knox County, Tennessee. Under the banner of the "Age-Appropriate Materials Act," school officials have pulled Alex Haley’s Roots from library shelves. The claim is that the text is too graphic. The reality is that Roots provides an undeniable blueprint of how an entire people were stripped of their names, their language, and their land, yet maintained a spark of who they were. By labeling the raw truth of chattel slavery as "inappropriate," the system attempts to bleach the historical record and erase the stain of this country's foundational sin.
The Ancestral Echo: The Strategy of Amnesia
This tactic is not new. Weaponized historical amnesia is an ancient tool of oppression. When you sever a people from their history, you sever them from their strength.
In the Torah, the command to remember is absolute. Our ancestors were explicitly commanded to recount the details of their bondage and their miraculous deliverance to their children, generation after generation.
"Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee." — Deuteronomy 32:7
The opposition knows that a people who remember who they are cannot be easily controlled. The book bans of 2026 are simply a modern implementation of an old decree: make them forget.
The Action Step: Build Your Own Archives
When they ban the books, they are trying to break the line. But our history does not belong to a school board, and our identity cannot be legislated out of existence. If they take the books off the shelves, we must put them on our tables at home. We must become the living archives.
We cannot expect the institutions that benefited from the erasure to be the custodians of our truth.
- Secure the Text: Purchase physical, unedited copies of Roots and other historical accounts for your home.
- Teach the Household: Dedicate time to reading these accounts with the younger generation.
- Guard the Line: Treat our history not as a school curriculum, but as a sacred inheritance.
As we watch these “rights” erode and the shadows lengthen, do not lose heart. Stand firm in the truth of who you are. Start homeschooling your children about our history, don’t leave it in the hands of your enemy.
Reclaiming the Desk
The Context: The Illusion of Delegation
For generations, we have outsourced the most sacred duty of a people, the education of our children, to institutions that were never designed to honor them. When we leave the history of our ancestors in the hands of public school boards and state legislatures, we are handing our children’s minds over to a system that views our truth as a threat to its comfort. The banning of Roots in 2026 is a wake-up call. It proves that the system will always choose to sanitize the stain of chattel slavery rather than confront it.
The Shift: From Public School to Private Sanctuary
To "stand firm in the truth of who you are" means you must stop asking permission to be remembered. If the enemy controls the curriculum, the curriculum will always produce compliance, amnesia, and a distorted sense of self.
Homeschooling is no longer just an educational preference; it is a tactical necessity for cultural survival. It is the modern manifestation of building our own walls. When you bring your children to the kitchen table to teach them their true history, you are breaking the cycle of dependency. You are ensuring that their roots go down deep into solid earth, completely untouched by the political whims of a district or a state.
The Scriptural Command: The Household Academy
This is exactly what the ancient paths required of us. The scriptures never commanded us to build public institutions to raise our children in righteousness. The mandate was always placed squarely on the parents, within the walls of the home.
"And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up." — Deuteronomy 6:7
Our history, our struggles, and our identity are meant to be a daily atmosphere, breathed in at the breakfast table and discussed before bed. Don't leave your child's identity to be graded by an adversary.
Elohim still loves you, Israel. The call remains the same: Choose Life, Choose Blessing, Choose Undivided Devotion. Repent, Return, and be free from the shadows of gross darkness.
