Tefillah (Prayer) | A Prayer for the Divine Court | The Case for Judgment
The Opening: Establishing the Bench "O YAH, the Great and Terrible Elohim, who keepest covenant and mercy for them that love Thee and observe Thy commandments - You who sit upon the Circle of the Earth and see the nations as a drop in a bucket. We come before Your Throne of Judgment, not with our own righteousness, but with the blood-stained records of our fathers. You are the Witness who was in the hull of the ship; You are the Eye that saw the child taken from the breast.
The Evidence: The Ledger of Atrocities Almighty YAH, we lay the evidence before You:
- The Man-stealing: We bring the manifests of the ships that carried us across the Great Deep, violating Your Law that 'he that stealeth a man and selleth him... shall surely be put to death.'
- The Blood in the Soil: We bring the memory of the bayous and the swamps, where our infants were used as prey for the beasts of the earth. The ground of this land is defiled; it cries out with the blood of the innocent that has never been covered.
- The Rule of Rigour: We bring the 'Slave Codes' and the iron collars, the branding and the lashes - the 'rigour' that You strictly forbade. They treated Your inheritance as cattle; they sold Your servants for silver and the needy for a pair of shoes.
The Petition: Pleading for Divine Verdict Judge the nations, O YAH! Let the wealth of the sinner be laid up for the just. We ask for a Jubilee of the Soul and the Soil. Break the psychological chains that remain from the enslavement of our ancestors. Let those who bankrolled our destruction find no rest until the restoration is complete, and let the descendants of slaveowners endure the very pain and suffering that our ancestors endured until our debt is paid, our name reclaimed, and our land restored.
You said in Your Word, 'Vengeance is mine; I will repay.' We do not take the sword in our own hands, but we hand the Record of Atrocities to You. Turn the hearts of the children back to the fathers, and the hearts of the fathers back to the children, and let the 'Year of the Redeemed' come.
The Closing: The Affirmation We wait for Your verdict, for You are the Elohim of Truth and there is no iniquity in You. We return to Your statutes, we cast off the shadows of the nations, and we stand as a witness that Your Word never returns void. Selah!
Elohim still loves you, Israel. The call remains the same: Choose Life, Choose Blessing, Choose Undivided Devotion. Repent, Return, and be free from the shadows of gross darkness.
