Man’s Heart Before the Fall | Returning to the Original Order
Shalom, and welcome back to Kol Tzion. We live in a world governed by ink and stone - contracts, codes of conduct, and legal decrees that dictate our every move. For many, the word "Law" carries a heavy weight, a sense of restriction. We often think of "law" as a list of rules written down for us to follow, often with dread. But have you ever considered that the very existence of a written law is evidence of something lost? Imagine a reality where morality wasn't a set of instructions you had to study, but something we felt?. There was once a time when the Law wasn't an external force, but an internal nature.
Think about the way you breathe. You don’t wake up and check a manual to remind your lungs to expand. You don't set an alarm to tell your heart to beat. It’s just... you. It’s natural. It’s built-in.
But when it comes to "the Law," many of us feel like we’re lugging around a heavy textbook of rules. We feel like we’re being watched, waiting to get caught for breaking a "do" or a "don't." But here is a thought: why do we even need a written book of rules to begin with?
The truth is, the fact that we need a scroll at all is proof that we’ve lost our rhythm.
In the beginning, in the Original Order of creation, there were no stone tablets or scrolls. There was no need. Before the 'knowledge of evil' introduced moral friction, humanity was in a state of Divine Resonance.
This state, the "Heart Before the Fall,” meant their very appetite was for the Good. Love for the Creator was as intuitive as breathing. There were no competing desires; the law was internal. There was no "inner war" or "evil urge" to fight. You didn't have to be told to be good, because you didn't have an appetite to be anything else.
The Break: When the Compass Smashed
So, what happened? The fall was not just a historical event; it was a fragmentation of the heart. By grasping for the 'knowledge of evil,' we didn't just gain insight; we gained internal conflict. We broke our internal compass. Suddenly, we had two appetites: one for good and one for evil.
We see this damage almost instantly.
- Cain lost his cool and committed the first murder because he couldn't handle his own jealousy.
- Lamech took it even further, bragging about his violence like it was a badge of honor.
Since our hearts were no longer "in tune," Elohim gave us the External Scroll (the Torah). We needed the written law to restrain our own newly darkened capacity for vengeance and disorder. The scroll stepped in because the heart could no longer self-regulate.
Think of it like a guardrail on a dangerous mountain road. If you can’t see the path anymore because of the fog, you need the rail to keep you from driving off the cliff. The Torah wasn't sent to trap us; it was a rescue mission to keep us safe until we could see clearly again.
The Fix: Cutting Away the Foreskin
So, how do we get back to that unmediated devotion? This is where Deuteronomy reveals the secret: "Circumcise the foreskin of your heart."
The "foreskin" isn't a physical covering; it's the ego, the callousness, the self-will that has grown over our true nature, preventing us from hearing the Divine pulse.
Circumcision of the heart is the procedure. It is the stripping away of these barriers. The Torah is a tool for this transformation, not a cage to trap us. When the heart is circumcised, the external "Thou Shalt Nots" are no longer heavy burdens; they become the natural expression of a soul that has returned home.
We are returning to a state where the law and the heart are one again.
Conclusion: It’s an Inside Job
The journey from the Scroll back to the Heart is the ultimate return. We must realize that the external commandments are the map, but the destination is the original state of being. We are not just following rules; we are recovering our true selves. The path back to the Garden does not require a physical journey to a hidden land, but a spiritual surgery performed in the secret places of the soul. The light of the Original Order is still inside you, waiting for the callous to be cleared away.
Elohim still loves you, Israel. The call remains the same: Choose Life, Choose Blessing, Choose Undivided Devotion. Repent, Return, and be free from the shadows of gross darkness.
