It is a heavy, draining experience that often comes from giving more than you have left in the tank. Let’s focus on the wisdom of the Holy Scriptures when even a Prophet needed a complete reset.

When the prophet Elijah was beyond exhausted and overwhelmed, the solution wasn't a lecture or more work—it was rest, nourishment, and a gentle whisper.

Here are three small, “Hebrew Scriptures—inspired" ways to reclaim your peace today, throughout the month of January, and  going forward:

  • The "Elijah" Reset: In 1 Kings 19, when Elijah was at his breaking point, he didn't receive a new mission immediately. He was told to sleep and eat. Action: Give yourself permission to take a 20-minute nap or eat a meal without looking at a screen. Your body is a vessel; it cannot pour if it is empty.
  • The Sabbath Minute: The concept of Shabbat is about stopping. You might not be able to stop for a whole day, but you can stop for 60 seconds. Action: Step outside, look at the sky, and breathe deeply. Remind yourself that the world continues to turn even when you aren't the one pushing it.
  • Seek the "Still, Small Voice": Burnout is loud and chaotic. Peace is usually found in the quiet. Action: Turn off your notifications for one hour. In that silence, remember that your value is not tied to your productivity, but to who you are.
