Prayer for Repentance

O Merciful GOD,

In the depths of my soul, I acknowledge my need for repentance. I come before You with a contrite heart, recognizing the ways in which I have strayed from Your path. I confess my sins, both known and unknown, and I ask for Your forgiveness. As Psalms 24:3-6 declares: “Who is allowed to ascend the mountain of YAH? Who may go up to His holy dwelling place?” (4) "The one whose deeds are blameless and whose motives are pure, who does not lie, or make promises with no intention of keeping them.” (5) "Such GODLY people are rewarded by GOD, and vindicated by the GOD who delivers them.” (6) "Such purity characterizes the people who seek His favor, Ya’acov’s descendants, who pray to Him.”

Cleanse me from my unrighteousness and create in me a clean heart. Renew a right spirit within me. Help me to turn away from my sinful ways and to walk in obedience to Your commands.

Grant me the strength to resist temptation and to overcome the weaknesses that so easily entangle me. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, that I may be empowered to live a life that is pleasing to You.

I repent of my past mistakes and my sins are ever before you. I commit myself to a life of repentance and renewal. Help me to grow in faith and in love, that I may become more like the righteous tree planted in YAH’S house in Psalms 92:12-14, “The GODLY grow like a palm tree; they grow high like a cedar in Lebanon.” (13) “Planted in YAH’S house, they grow in the courts of our Elohim.” (14) “They bear fruit even when they are old; they are filled with vitality and have many leaves.”

Help me to learn from my mistakes and to grow in wisdom and grace. May my heart be filled with gratitude for Your grace and mercy, and may my life be a testament to Your transformative power. HalleluYAH!
